Funding Priorities

The mission of the Wyandotte Health Foundation is to promote and improve the health of Wyandotte County residents, particularly persons who are poor, through grants and collaborative efforts. The Foundation fulfills its mission by making grants to organizations and agencies that provide services that improve the health of Wyandotte County residents, and by working collaboratively within the community to further such efforts. We focus our grant-making in two major priority areas:

Primary Health Care
Our main focus is programs/projects that deliver affordable and accessible primary health care directly to persons who are poor, uninsured and underinsured in Wyandotte County.

Applications for Primary Health Care grants are typically available in May.

Prevention, Intervention and Education
Wyandotte Health Foundation also funds programs/projects that directly and positively change the health habits, behaviors and/or lifestyles of persons who are poor, uninsured and underinsured in Wyandotte County through prevention, intervention and education strategies.

Applications for Prevention, Intervention and Education grants are typically available in April.

Applicants can only apply for one grant per year from the Wyandotte Health Foundation - either a Primary Health Care grant or a grant for Prevention, Intervention and Education.

Starting in 2012, our Board of Directors introduced a New Initiative Committee to review and recommend funding of special requests and initiatives to benefit the health of Wyandotte County residents.
